Kowalczyk staat het beste bekend als de lead zanger, gitarist en frontman van de band LIVE. Hij heeft samen met zijn band een indrukwekkend CV opgebouwd: een oeuvre
met onder andere acht albums; een cd]verkoop van meer dan 22 miljoen; en diverse Platina en Gouden albums in de VS, Canada, Australië, Zuid]Afrika, België, Zweden,
Noorwegen en uiteraard ook in Nederland. LIVE was één van de meest succesvolle en solide alternatieve rock]acts van de afgelopen twintig jaar. LIVE had – en nog
belangrijker: Ed hééft – een enorme internationale fan base én Ed blijft intensief wereldwijd toeren. Alive is Ed’s eerste solo]plaat, die is voortgekomen na een jaarlange
akoestische tournee. Sinds 2010 toert hij met een voltallige rock band die bestaat uit de muzikanten die ook op het album meespelen. In 2011 zal Ed door Europa toeren.
De eerste 750 albums zijn gelimiteerde versies. De LP’s worden geperst op 180 gram zilver en zwart gemixt vinyl en de bijkomende exclusieve 7” zal worden geperst op
