Op vrijdag 29 november verschijnt de boxset Het Beste Uit 20 Jaar Top 2000. De set, bestaande uit maar liefst 14 cd’s, geeft een bloemlezing van alle 20 edities van het bekendste radio-event van Nederland, waar jaarlijks tussen kerst en oud & nieuw miljoenen mensen op afstemmen.

De box begint met een 2CD met daarop nummers uit de 50’s en 60’s. Daarop onder meer Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, The Byrds, Aretha Franklin, Buffalo Springfield en David Bowie. De volgende 2CD bevat het allerbeste uit de Jaren 70, waaronder Van Morrison, John Lennon, Rod Stewart, Lou Reed, Paul McCartney, Aerosmith, Billy Joel, Roxy Music en The Clash. Op de volgende twee cd’s vind je de jaren 80: onder meer The Cure, Joe Jackson, Simple Minds, Talk Talk, Simply Red, Tears For Fears en Cock Robin. De 2CD met nummers uit de 90’s geeft met Roxette, Manic Street Preachers, Live, Sheryl Crow, Boudewijn de Groot, Paul Weller en Beth Hart een mooi overzicht van het laatste decennium van de vorige eeuw.

Ook op de 2CD van de 00’s zijn vele grote namen aanwezig, waaronder Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Within Temptation, Snow Patrol, John Mayer, Amy Winehouse en Elbow. De laatste op decennium geselecteerde 2CD is die van de 10’s. Hierop staan onder meer De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig, Lana Del Rey, Michael Kiwanuka, P!nk, Avicii, Kensington, First Aid Kit, Sam Smith, Bløf & Geike, Bastille, George Ezra en Davina Michelle. De zevende (en laatste) 2CD bevat de in de Top 2000 zo populaire ‘Long Versions’. In verband met de lengte van deze songs passen er op deze twee cd’s slechts vijftien nummers: je kunt voluit genieten van onder andere Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Golden Earring, Rare Earth, Little River Band en The Mark & Clark Band.

Kortom, zo’n uitgebreid overzicht van de Top 2000 was er nog nooit. En dat alles in een zeer mooi vormgegeven én betaalbare box!
