Automatic For The People is het meesterwerk van R.E.M. Nadat de band een jaar eerder eindelijk een groter publiek had bereikt met het album Out Of Time bracht opvolger Automatic For The People ze de absolute sterrenstatus, een album dat maar liefst 6 hitsingles bevat. Drive, Man On The Moon en Everybody Hurts zijn de meest bekende hiervan, maar ook nummers als Find The River en The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight werden klassiekers.

Nu 25 jaar na dato verschijnt er een speciale editie om de kwarteeuwige verjaardag van dit legendarische album te vieren. De Deluxe Edition is een 3CD+BluRay set in een LP-formaat boxset met naast de schijfjes ook een boek met foto’s van Anton Corbijn, uitgebreide liner notes en een nieuw interview met alle vier de bandleden. Daarnaast verschijnt het album ook als 2CD (gelijk aan CD1 en 2 uit de Deluxe Edition) en 1LP.

2CD - T50557 Commemorating the album’s 25th Anniversary, this remastered 2CD edition features the full album remastered from the original analog tapes. Housed in a clamshell box, this edition features new liner notes by Tom Doyle who conducted new interviews with all band members. Also included is a full live set, Live At The 40 Watt Club 11/19/92. Performed in R.E.M.’s hometown of Athens, GA, it was the band’s only live show that year.

VINYL - T50583 Commemorating the album’s 25th Anniversary, this 180 gram vinyl edition features the full original album, remastered from the original analog tapes. Includes digital download card.

DELUXE - T50555
Commemorating the album’s 25th Anniversary, this remastered Deluxe edition boxset features previously unreleased material, including 20 never-before-heard demos, and the previously unreleased tracks “Mike’s Pop Song” and “Devil Rides Backwards.” A Blu-ray disc offers the full album (with bonus track “Photograph” featuring Natalie Merchant) mixed in Dolby Atmos, plus a high-resolution master of the album, music videos, and the original 1992 EPK. Also included is Live At The 40 Watt Club 11/19/92 – a live set performed in R.E.M.’s hometown of Athens, GA. Housed in a 12” x 12” box, the Deluxe edition features a 60-page book, offering photos by Anton Corbjin and Melodie McDaniel, plus expanded liner notes by Tom Doyle who conducted new interviews with all 4 band member
