Kovacs - Static Tears CD

13 nov 2026

For more than a decade, Sharon Kovacs has turned pain into songs. From the Bond-like tango pop-noir of My Love to the raw confessions of Child Of Sin, music has been her way of giving the dark a place where it is allowed to exist. On her fourth album, Static Tears, out 13 November 2026, she does something she has never done before. On Static Tears, Kovacs combines the smoky pop-noir sound she is known for with a strong uplifting electronic foundation: old-school electro, vocoders and analogue synthesizers, partly recorded in Berlin’s famous synth heavy studios. The title is a contradiction on purpose; tears cannot be static, and the album asks whether technology and emotion can ever truly meet. Across ten songs she writes about a world drowning in information, questioning what is still true, and about being connected yet lonelier than ever.
